From the Archives

This photo is from June of 2007. It’s one of my favourite photos of Sweets. I couldn’t believe how well this photo turned out. It was all luck, actually. I was holding one of his toys just above the camera and started clicking and this is how it came out. Look at the eyes. They look almost rabid. I can’t remember what toy he was trying to get, but it must have been one of his favourites. He was pretty hyper at the time this photo was taken, I remember that much. It’s nice to have a photo of him where he is so full of energy and not snoozing somewhere. LOL.

Please bear with me as I move posts from other blog to this one...

Smoochies,
Sweets - little tired of moving big man

May 25th weekend

This is Ben (Boxer) and Maggie (Schnoodle). They are my parents dogs. Maggie is in the background of this photo in case you missed her on first glance of the photo. I have to say, it is very unusual for Maggie to be in the background!

Sweets and I spent the weekend at my parents. He had a lot of fun playing with Ben (Boxer) and Maggie (Schnoodle). My parents live at the lake so there are no busy roads around and I let Sweets offleash at their house. He loves it. He wandered away once and I turned around and he was caught rolling around in something disgusting down near the lake. I don’t know what it was but he sure did stink when I picked him up to carry him back to where we were all sitting. Yuck!

Back Home

While you’re here, why don’t you take a second to rub my belly. Do you like my pose? I’m all ready for a good belly rubbin’.

Thank you paw.

Umm, excuse me, Mom, I think it’s about time you mow the lawn. The grass is almost taller than I am!!!

The “new” groomer missed my eyelashes on my right eye the last time I went for the dreaded grooming session. Do you see how long they are? Mom’s afraid to cut them because she’s afraid she might poke my eye out with the scissors. She’s so silly!

Here I am “retrieving” my rabbit from my new Rabbit in the Hat - Magic Hat toy. I put retrieve in brackets because Mom is the one who retrieves…not I. I’ll fetch sure enough, but I don’t bring the toy back to her. I take it to the couch and squeak the hell out of it. Then mom comes over and retrieves the toy and throws it again for me. Do I have her trained nicely or what? She’s really good at it too.

A little bit of Sweets

The above photo is a couple of months old but thought it was so cute I had to share. It’s kind of a funny photo because he is looking at me like he’s worried. He really hates getting his picture taken. Every time he hears the motor of the lens coming out he runs right up to me because he knows I won’t take his picture if he is sitting in my lap. I guess it’s a good way for him to c’mere. Smart little bugger.

Look at the size of his mouth. It’s heee-uge. He’s waiting for me to throw the balls that are laying in front of him. To his dismay, I just took his picture. This photo was taken just before his last grooming session. I took him to a new groomer this time. I didn’t feel comfortable with the last groomer, even though we had been going to see her for more than a year.

I like Sweets to have a Bully Stick now and then. The only thing I don’t like is when they first come out of the package and then the next little while after that. I can’t believe how much these things stink. YUCK! He loves them so much, though, so I guess I will continue to deal with it. Maggie (more on her later) loves them too, and whenever she comes over she completely goes nuts for them. She starts chewing as soon as she arrives and doesn’t stop until she leaves.

He’s almost asleep in the following photo. Not quite, but almost. I don’t have one photo of him sleeping. As soon as I move, he wakes up. I guess that’s the same with most doggies. He can be snoring away (which he does, and it’s pretty loud) and if I move even a little bit, bam, he wakes up. This photo is the closest photo I have taken of him being asleep.

Until next time! Smoochies from Sweets! :)

Rub My Belly...You Know You Want To

I'm baaaaa-ck. I've been gone for a long time, but now I am finally back. I sat Mom down the other day and INSISTED she let me back on the 'puter so I could blog again. Oh how I've missed it. I can't believe how long it's been since Mom let me do this. Shame on her. The nerve! I've had so many things to say, but she just continued to ignore my pleas to let me blog. Hmph! I guess I will forgive her, afterall, she feeds me lots of yummy chicken treats.

AND gives me the world's bestest belly rubbins. She tells me she has bought some new Wubba's for me too. (Mom: Wubba's are what Sweets knows as the word "toy". I tried to teach him the name of his individual toys, but Wubba was the only one he got...sort of. Whenever I would say "get your Wubba" he would grab the nearest toy and not necessarily the Kong Wubba.) She says she got them off the Internet and they may take something like 2 weeks to get here. She said it takes so long because they are coming all the way from California and I live in Canada. Sucks though, but in 2 weeks I get some new Wubba's. Yay! They are from the Hide-a-Toy line and I love me my Hide-a-Toys. I can't wait, but I guess I'll have to. See, my Mom's not so bad, right? Chicken treats, belly rubbins AND Wubba's!

Lazy Summer Day

It's been raining a lot around here lately so Sweets has had to spend more time indoors than he would like. Ho hum.

I thought this photo of his little paw was so cute.

IMG_0298

This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago during a loooong walk I took with him and Maggie (who is obviously not in this photo). Look at the tongue. He looks pooped. It was also just before his grooming appointment he had recently.

The above photo was taken at Jackson Creek. We are lovin' Jackson Creek. You see tons of dogs on that path.

Finally back

Mid yawn. I have tried to get this exact shot a million times, but finally got it. This perfect timing was by accident.

Looking pensive.

This and the above photo are out of order. This was after the walk.
